Clean, spacious, attractive room with microwave, fridge, hair dryer, iron +board, Kleenex, nice TV, menus of local restaurants. We've stayed here on vacations several years in a row and never been disappointed.
None the less! I recommend this place. I picked it because it had a good price, and the parking lot was well lit, and camera monitored. The staff was friendly, and helpful, and accommodating, as I requested a room near where I parked my truck and uhaul trailer. It was clean and comfortable, and a good spot to stop. 4 star review for a two star hotel.
Let's call this place what it is; a two star truck stop side of the road hotel, on your way to anywhere else but Grants, New Mexico. My bathroom light didn't work, but the timed heat lamp did, so god help you when that timer goes off while you're showering, and it goes pitch black. Also the tub was so creaky I thought it was going to fall into the floor. The design for the climate control was a bit odd, as the fan blew the air right up into the curtains, so it never quite reached the room fully.
Nothing special but clean. TV only had one channel, which would have been ok if we were interested in watching a gospel revival musical program. The desk gal was apologetic and did offer for us to change rooms, but it was late and we had already showered. Breakfast ok.
The desk clerk on duty at 6 a.m. was very rude. Breakfast was advertised for 6 a.m. The doors were still locked at 6:10 a.m. when she came to unlock the doors, she only unlocked the deadbolt so we were still locked out. She argued through the door that it was unlocked . I noticed that she treated some ladies rude also. The room was clean, bedding was new but electrical plug-ins were worn and cords would fall out. Breakfast selection was basic with not many extras
We stopped here at about 3 am after driving 16 hours from California. Two other hotels didn't have anyone there to check anyone in and another was booked. We were checked in here promptly. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was a little faulty: the water would come from the faucet and the shower head, leaving you to stand in a couple of inches of water as you showered. We enjoyed the stay though!
