Great place, awesome food and friendly staff
Excellent Reuben! Excellent service! Great breakfast burrito, reasonable price, and the pies are absolutely amazing. We ordered the cheesecake and the coconut cream, and both were homemade and excellent. You got to stop here if you're on the I-40.
Stayed in Grant overnight and just saw this place as we were driving. Didn't know what to expect. Ordered huevos rancheros (no cheese) with green chili sauce. Absolutely fantastic. Another member of my party ordered a short stack of pancakes. The waitress asked him if he knew how big their pancakes were and recommended he start with one. It was dinner plate sized. And one of the best pancakes we've ever tasted. The coffee and iced tea were really fresh. Cute down home place. Very clean and very friendly people. Definitely recommend.
We're not new to this 1st St.Cafe, been going there since it was born (it was born on first Street in Grants then moved to its new home on Santa Fe. "FIRST STREET CAFE ON SANTA FE". Besides this little history lesson I can say for the most part, this "Cafe" & staff has strived to be clean, friendly, and presents great food consistently. Be careful though, you might get a big smile & HUG at no charge LOL
