We sent an animal in need of rescue to this shelter for help. Well they told us that they would check out the animal and help it recover. I spoke with them and they needed to talk to the supervisors and they would call me back. Well sad to say they did not. I found out that by helping out an animal it meant killing it. I found this out and immediatley starting calling becasue I found a different place in Albuquerque that would actually give the animal medical attention. I called that afternoon and the next morning and probably made over 100 calls to the shelter telling them not to put the animal down. When I finally did get a hold of the shelter they flat out lied to me about the extent of the injury and put her down. I could have saved this animals life and got her back to her newborn litter and this shelter took that option and MURDERED the animal. I am now going to file a complaint with the city!
No one answers the Phone on several attempts...it goes to a ' message' system but there is no prompts to leave a message, or recording....then the phone call hangs up! ? ? ?
This shelter is terrible. The director told me that animals are sent to the women's prison and trained by the incarcerated women. So what did the woman in charge do after telling me how great the shelter was? She put animals to sleep that I entrusted to her. Animals that I was rescuing from a bad situation. She is a nasty, lying, murderer.
Animals are dropped off in hot metal lock boxes. This shelter needs a lot of help and needs to be open hour where people can actually come in to see the animals to adopt..that is what the city tax money is supposed to be going for--a place to be able to adopt animals not dump animals and have to call to get someone to go out there so you can see the animals!!!!
